🕊 Goodbye, My Little Soul
It’s strange how silence can be so loud.
The house feels the same — the desk, the chair, even the small bed by my side — yet everything is different. You’re not here anymore. 💔
I still remember the day I first saw you — that tiny ball of fur with trembling paws and curious eyes. You were so fragile, so full of wonder. From that moment, I knew: you weren’t just a pet. You were family.
You grew up beside me — through sleepless nights, through quiet mornings, through years I’d rather forget.
When the world felt too heavy, your purrs became the softest comfort, your warmth my only anchor. 🌙
Last night, everything changed.
One moment, you were lying on your little bed, breathing softly as I typed away.
The next… a sound — sharp, unfamiliar, terrifying. I called your name, but there was no answer.
You looked as if you were only sleeping — body warm, eyes open, tongue peeking out — but I knew. I knew the moment I couldn’t hear your purrs anymore.
We rushed to the vet. I begged for hope, for a miracle. The vet’s voice was gentle, but final:
“There’s no heartbeat. He’s gone.”
I wanted to scream. I wanted to bring you back. But all I could do was hold you — and whisper your name over and over, like maybe you’d still hear me.
That night, I brought you home.
You lay on your favorite blanket, the one that always smelled like sunshine. I sat beside you, hand resting near your tiny paws — the same way you used to fall asleep every night.
But this time, the room was unbearably quiet. No soft purrs. No gentle breaths. Just the sound of my heart breaking. 💧
Our other cat, Mimi, didn’t come near you. He just watched from a distance, eyes full of something I can only call grief. Maybe he understood in a way words never could.
The next morning, I wrapped you carefully — your blanket, your tiny pillow, your owl toy. I kept a small tuft of your fur, soft as a memory I can’t let go.
As the fire took you, I whispered, “Thank you for loving me.”
Now, you rest inside a small urn that fits in my hands — light as air, heavy as love.
You’re home again, in a different form. I carry you wherever I go.
It feels like you were sent to me for a reason. You came when I was lost — stayed when I couldn’t find my way — and left only when I learned how to stand again.
You saved me more times than you’ll ever know.
And even though one more reason to live is gone, your love will never leave me.
Sleep well, my little soul.
Mama loves you — forever, and always. 🕯🐾
